Produced in the context of Professor Jennifer Ly's (Figure) studio 'Public Art Depot' | Spring 2022
Serving as a pubic art museum meant to showcase both curated art pieces as well as archived ones, this project explores the idea of ‘The Reveal,’ which celebrates the wonder generated by the initial encounter of exhibition spaces and archived art. With the site positioned in the urban grid of Dogpatch without much green space, the project retains a connection to this orthogonality on the street facing facades, but diverts from it as the project looks inwards towards a celebrated sculpture plaza. Six main volumes encapsulate exhibition spaces, which are revealed through faceted cuts in the volumes. By narrowing or widening viewpoints to exhibition spaces in plan and section, visitors are drawn inwards from the street.
